Book recommendation

For anyone who has time to read... I'm always looking for a good book, and since twilight (a must read if you haven't yet) I finally found another series that I like. It is called "Hunger Games" the second book of the trilogy came out a few weeks ago and is called "Catching Fire". If you haven't read it yet, you should. Then call me and tell me what great taste I have in literature!

Eggs and Butter

I had an experience today that reminded me of an email from my mom recently. She told of how she'd had her 2 year old grandson Nathan help her crack a dozen eggs and what a fun experience it was watching him explore. Today Isabelle asked if she could help make dinner. I was in the process of making texas toast. (take french bread, slice it, butter both sides then fry it in a frying pan until crisp.) So i handed her the butter and the sliced bread. two sticks of butter later and after much laughing and wiping up of sticky mess... She was so cute. I love that she likes to cook with me. And the texas toast was delicious.

Blessing Outfit

We had Adam blessed several weeks ago, but I had forgotten my camera, so we took pictures with LouAnn's camera, and I still havn't seen the results...

(Matt says he retrieved them, but still...) so....
I finally took some more pictures of my boy in his blessing outfit before he outgrows it. Some of you may recognize this outfit as several of my brothers wore it once upon a time. It has held up rather well, and Adam was cute as could be.

Happy 3 months old!

Time is flying by. For his three month old birthday Adam got...
TWO TEETH!
Yikes!
I guess he wants to be fully prepared for when i can start giving him solids.

We went swimming today at sister Boney's pool. The water was very cold. Adam slept in his bouncy seat while Isabelle and I swam. She is getting to be a very good swimmer. She has absolutely no fear of the water. However she can do the backstroke on her own now (until she starts to panic), so that is exciting. We raced from one end of the pool to the other and she beat me. When it was time to get out we wrapped in our towels and layed in the hammock. It was really fun to spend some time with her. She is growing up way too fast.

Clothing Optional?

Some days i wonder why i even get dressed. Yesterday after the mid-day feeding Adam threw up no less than 15 times! I never sit down now without a fresh burp cloth handy, and I always position it carefully. This morning I had just finished nursing him and had him on my shoulder to burp him. I had the burp cloth positioned just right, but it came out with such force that it actually travelled UP the burp cloth over the crest of my shoulder and down the other side where it soaked into the couch! It is absurd. Fortunately he doesn't seem so bothered by stomach upsets these days and the doctor says as long as he is gaining weight not to worry about it. Sigh. So i just change my shirt after every feeding. It is a good thing he is so dang cute. Speaking of which. I have some cute pictures i will try to post tomorrow.

"My Day" by Adam Leininger

  1. I wake up crying. 'Why hasn't anyone fed me yet?...' I wonder.
  2. Mommy feeds me. This i thoroughly enjoy... so much that i don't want to stop... even when I'm full... which leads to...
  3. I cry because my tummy hurts. My mommy burps me, holds me, bounces me, rocks me, loves me... still i cry.
  4. All that crying makes me tired. Being tired makes me cry. Finally mommy wraps me up (having my arms loose makes me cry) and puts me to bed....
  5. ZZzzzzz. My pacifier falls out. I cry.
  6. Mommy puts my pacifier back in... ZZZzzzzzzzzz
  7. Repeat steps 1-6 as often as necessary.

    More information about me:
  • I like to eat.
  • I don't like being out side (the wind makes me cry)
  • I don't like being hot (that makes me cry)
  • I don't like the grocery store (I cry)
  • I want you to stand up to hold me or I will cry.
  • I don't like riding in the car!
  • Don't even think about putting me in the stroller.
  • I have to go. All this crying has made me hungry.

I just can't figure out why mommy is so tired.

    Love Adam
